paediatric hydrotherapy
MAKING MOVEMENTÂ FUN IN THE WATER.

Hydrotherapy provides a fun and supportive environment for children to work towards their goals in the water. We work closely with your child's physiotherapist or allied health professional to support the programs they have developed, helping your child build strength, confidence, and skills at their own pace.
MAKING THERAPY FEEL LIKE PLAY
For many children, being in the pool doesn't feel like therapy, and that's part of what makes it so special.
Games, pool toys, balls and water-based activities can be incorporated into your child's program to encourage participation and make exercises more enjoyable. The goal is to work towards meaningful outcomes while creating a session your child actually looks forward to.
MOVEMENT, STRENGTH & CONFIDENCE
Depending on your child's individual program and goals, sessions may work on areas such as strength, balance, coordination, mobility, endurance, range of movement and overall physical confidence.
The water creates a different environment for movement and gives children another opportunity to practise their skills in a fun and supportive setting.

SPLASH, PLAY & GROW

CONFIDENCE IN THE WATER
Hydrotherapy can be about more than completing exercises. Regular time in the pool can also help children become more comfortable and confident in an aquatic environment.
Every child is different, so sessions can be adapted to their confidence, abilities and comfort in the water while allowing them to progress at their own pace.
WORKING WITH YOUR CHILD'S THERAPY TEAM
I can work alongside your child's physiotherapist or relevant allied health professional to help carry their prescribed hydrotherapy program into regular sessions.
This allows your child to have additional opportunities to practise their exercises while maintaining consistency with the goals and recommendations established by their treating team.
THEIR PROGRAM. THEIR PACE.
Some children jump straight into the water with confidence, while others need a little more time and encouragement and that's completely okay.
Sessions are shaped around your child's abilities, personality, interests and goals. Activities can be modified to help your child participate successfully while still challenging them in ways that are appropriate for them.
MORE THAN EXERCISE
I want hydrotherapy to be a place where children can move, play, build confidence and feel proud of what their bodies can do.
Whether we're reaching for toys, practising movement, building strength or turning an exercise into a game, the focus is on helping your child work towards their goals while enjoying the process.
